There’s nothing like a little good news to shake off the quarantine blues, and we’ve just received some pretty fantastic news we just couldn’t help but share.
Brunet-García was just named to Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces of 2020!
Selected from over 3,000 applicants, our agency made the list of private American companies that have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits.
“The leaders in our organization practice open communication and give employees the opportunity to ask questions, challenge them, and provide input that actually affects how we work together.”
This prestigious recognition comes as the result of an employee survey conducted by Quantum Workplace, which evaluated our performance in the areas of trust, management effectiveness, perks, and confidence in the future.
Creating a great workplace is a team effort that starts at the top with leadership’s emphasis on cultivating a culture where employees not only feel respected and appreciated, but actually enjoy coming to work every day–the Holy Grail of modern management. Getting here doesn’t happen by accident, and it doesn’t happen overnight. “Culture” may be a buzzword in today’s corporate lexicon, but it isn’t something you can capture in a memo, an email, or a blog post for that matter. It is neither a platitude nor a cliché. It goes beyond snacks, a “cool” office space, and the occasional party; it must be nurtured over time until it is lived and felt by every member of the team.
“I genuinely feel as though leadership values employee happiness and implements policy and benefits to increase job satisfaction and opportunities for growth, resulting in better creative and strategic output from the agency.”
For us, that means leading with compassion and a commitment to doing good. When our people know that their work inspires others and affects positive change in the world, it creates a collective sense of purpose and accomplishment. It means celebrating creativity and challenging one another to reach ever higher to achieve our goals. It means fostering collaboration across diverse teams to get the job done and sharing in the rewards and accolades that inevitably accrue when you focus on what matters most.
It goes without saying that maintaining such a thriving culture in light of our current circumstances has been challenging, but rather than throw in the towel, we’ve doubled down on this increasingly essential facet of our identity. We’ve adapted to and overcome the obstacles of collaborating from home with frequent check-ins and remote brainstorm sessions (and, yes, virtual happy hours). Our social committee has issued weekly challenges that encourage each other to stay engaged and connected while showcasing both the creativity and resiliency of our team. We even received a surprise (socially distanced) visit from our founder/COO and her assistant, the Easter Bunny, as they traveled door-to-door hand delivering thoughtful Easter baskets full of activities, treats, and maybe a little booze, brightening our day and reminding us all exactly why our office is indeed not one of, but the best place to work.
“BG is a true tribe—celebrating in each other’s accomplishments, lifting one another up, and encouraging one another each day.”
