Brunet-García, a provider of multilingual communications services to private sector, government, and nonprofit customers, has been awarded a 10-year, $100 million opportunity to provide national health marketing services to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquartered in Atlanta.
Among the 16 national companies selected in late September for award on the CDC’s Health Marketing Support Services Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), Brunet-García is one of only six small businesses. Each BPA award is valued at $100 million for the entire 10-year term of the BPA.
The award is the culmination of a rigorous six-month review process conducted by the CDC procurement staff and is expected to focus on communications efforts related to ongoing and future CDC outreach programs. These programs will range from HIV awareness to pandemic flu preparedness to injury prevention and smoking cessation.
“We are honored to have received a contract award of this significance and magnitude with CDC,” said Diane Brunet, vice president and founding partner of Brunet-García. “It is both fulfilling and rewarding to know that we will continue to provide the public with important health information to improve quality of life—and perhaps in some cases, save lives.”
Brunet-García, established in 2003, is a GSA Professional Services Schedule (PSS) provider and a Hispanic-owned SBA 8(a)-certified small business. Under the agreement with the CDC, Brunet-García will leverage its expertise in advertising, mass communication, social marketing and media, health literacy, health education, health promotion, and behavioral and social sciences to provide health marketing outreach.
“We are thrilled to be the only Florida-based firm selected, among so many excellent national peers. Our Florida public health work over the last decade and our recent work with CDC on ALS and prescription drug overdose prevention have prepared us to create and implement transformative public health outreach strategies on behalf of CDC,” said Molly Walker, vice president of Brunet-García and BPA lead. “The competition for this BPA award was fierce, and it allows us to compete for contracts issued through individual task orders.”
Brunet-García’s winning proposal included a best-of-breed team to provide CDC a full complement of services for all communication needs. Teaming partner Sapient Government Services of Arlington, Virginia, is a global consulting company dedicated to leading public sector organizations through digital and business transformation. It partners with government, health, nonprofit, and educational organizations to create social change through strategy, creativity, and technology.
Expert capabilities and relevant past experience were added by the Brunet-García team of subcontractors, including health research by Altarum Institute, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan; media planning, buying and optimization by Mediassociates, based in Sandy Hook, Connecticut; and event planning by service-disabled veteran owned company TCG Consulting, based in Atlanta, Georgia.
