Brunet-García Advertising partners Jorge and Diane Brunet-García and Molly Walker announced the appointment of Kim Vermillion, a long-time brand strategist and account leader, to the position of vice president of brand and marketing strategy.
Vermillion has led pivotal account teams and research efforts for the agency over the past 13 years, including work for Florida Department of Health’s Florida SHOTS, Federal Emergency Management Agency’s U.S. Fire Administration, Citra Health Solutions, and World Affairs Council of Jacksonville.
“An extraordinary program director and brand strategist, Vermillion has been an integral part of Brunet-García since the early days of our agency. She always dives deep to understand our customers’ market needs, then to inspire our teams to create precise, strategic solutions that drive success,” said Diane Brunet-García. “As the longtime leader of our statewide Florida SHOTS team of public health advocates, field trainers, and EHR implementation specialists, Kim has spearheaded a healthcare initiative from its inception that has united private and public stakeholders to support immunization efforts across Florida. That’s quite an achievement, and Kim is the compelling, motivational leader who has made it happen.”
As the agency has broadened its reach into national private sector, nonprofit, and government accounts, Vermillion has worked hand-in-hand with agency partners to solidify brand, marketing, and research strategy for clients across the public health spectrum, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and other Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies of the federal government.
“Brunet-García’s reputation as an agency that helps programs and brands inspire meaningful change has led to tremendous growth over the last couple of years,” said Vermillion. “It’s very exciting to be called on to lead a team of premier account and brand experts in collaboration with fantastic creative, PR, and technology teams as we continue to expand our work with clients that are making a positive social impact, in our community and across the nation.”
Vermillion takes her position on the agency management team, along with the company’s three partners and VP/Creative Director Eduardo Sarmiento. Vermillion’s addition to the management team will allow Walker to focus on strategic planning, business development, and partner relationships, as she leads the agency in managing and planning for growth.
“With each of these strong, talented women focused on distinct areas of the business, B|G will be postured for unprecedented success,” Diane Brunet-García said.
Vermillion joined Brunet-García in 2004, a year after the agency’s launch. She grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and received a bachelor’s degree with high honors in political science and business administration from the University of Florida. She later earned a master’s degree in government and statistics from the University of Texas.
Before joining Brunet-García, Vermillion served as an independent strategic marketing communications consultant. She was the creative services manager at Modis Professional Services (later acquired by Adecco USA), and then served as strategic marketing program director at Paul Davis, Inc., a national network of remodeling and restoration specialists.
In her new position, Vermillion will oversee the account strategy team and shepherd research and the development of processes to streamline communication and strengthen collaboration among the account team, the creative team, and clients.
Vermillion concluded, “As a strategic marketing and communications professional, there’s nothing better than being able to contribute to the common good alongside a passionate team that comprises such a vast array of talents. Working together, we’re fine-tuning the processes needed to sustain and thrive as our growth trajectory continues.”
