Brunet-García Advertising and their 2012 re:solve℠ grant recipients participated in a tree-planting event hosted by Greenscape of Jacksonville in Boone Park on Saturday, March 3. Fifty-nine trees were added to the Riverside park landscape.

The tree planting was a kick-off for the partnerships created by Brunet-García’s re:solve℠ grant program. Organizations receiving service grants from the advertising agency include Wounded Warrior Project, RAP and Greenscape.

The location of Boone Park was determined by one of the grant recipients, Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP). The trees were provided by JEA through the “Green Releaf” partnership between Greenscape of Jacksonville and JEA.

Patrons of Boone Park will now be able to enjoy a variety of new trees, including crape myrtle, redbud, fringe, cypress, dogwood and riverbirch. The tree planting was a great success and served as a reminder that trees play an integral role in our urban infrastructure and are essential to the magnificence of Jacksonville’s landscape.

Agency certified by the Small Business Administration. Continue reading →

The Small Business Administration (SBA) officially awarded Brunet-García Advertising an 8(a) certification valid through January 2021. The multi-cultural advertising and public relations agency based in Jacksonville, Fla., is now eligible for access to SBA training, counseling and marketing opportunities in federal procurement markets. Brunet-García is establishing an office in Washington, D.C., to better serve federal agencies.

“We are thrilled that this certification will enable us to forge new relationships and continue producing quality, measurable results for government, non-profit and private sector customers,” said Jorge Brunet-García, President and CEO of Brunet-García Advertising.

The 8(a) program streamlines the procurement process, allowing for direct sole-source contracting with Brunet-García. A successful record of working with government entities including the Florida Department of Health and Florida Department of Transportation illustrates Brunet-García’s ability to serve the market efficiently and with results.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the local and national economy,” said Annette Paulson, Brunet-García’s designated Business Opportunity Specialist at the North Florida District Office of the SBA. “The 8(a) certification will allow Brunet-García to fortify its strengths and expand its reach as one of those small businesses.”

For more information on the agency’s capabilities, government procurement officers and mentor/protégé companies should contact Cristina Parcell, Government Marketing Manager at Brunet-García, or view a profile line card at www.brunetgarcia.com.

By shortening the name of the festival to “Jax Film Fest,” we were able to create a bold identity emphasizing the urban energy of the event.

To capture the qualities of a true city film festival, the BG creative team focused our rebranding efforts on the grungy, graffiti-like feel of the inner city. This became the new badge of the festival, and is a fundamental graphic tying all the elements of promotion and advertising together.

The festival, which ran from October 13 through October 16, has historically boasted a great turnout. This year’s event had a 50 percent increase in ticket sale, comprising of local, national and international film fanatics.

Some of this year’s feature films included Wild Horse Wild Ride, Bettie Page Reveals All, and a fiftieth anniversary showing of West Side Story. The festival also hosted several special events, including a Red Carpet event at the Florida Theatre and a Women in Filmmaking brunch at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens.

Brunet-García Advertising<ins datetime="2011-05-05T12:10" cite="mailto:Diane%20Brunet"></ins>’s creative team was honored at the 2011 American Advertising Federation’s 4th District ADDY Awards with two Best of Category awards, three Gold ADDYs and 15 Silver ADDYs at the event held recently in Miami. The competition, which honors excellence in advertising, is the second step of a three-step journey, taking winning entries from the local level to the national level.

Brunet-García was the only local agency and one of only three agencies in the district to win two Best of Category awards, joining Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group and SapientNitro.
“Walking away with two Best of Category trophies and eighteen regional ADDYs – the most awarded to an agency from Florida and the Caribbean – was certainly quite an accomplishment,” said Jorge Brunet-García, president and chief creative director of Brunet-García. “I am very proud of our team and energized by knowing that a small agency from a town once known as Cowford can compete with and beat the big boys in <ins datetime="2011-05-05T12:13" cite="mailto:Diane%20Brunet"></ins>Miami, Tampa, <ins datetime="2011-05-05T12:12" cite="mailto:Diane%20Brunet"></ins>Orlando and the entire Caribbean region<ins datetime="2011-05-05T12:13" cite="mailto:Diane%20Brunet"></ins>.”
